Missy Franklin, five-time Olympic medalist, just had a fabulous swim meet at the Minnesota Grand Prix (and Todd Schmitz’s whole Colorado Stars team had a nice meet). She finished up with a double win in the 200 yard backstroke, and 100 yard freestyle on the final night.
In this interview with Katrina Radke, she shares the process of first making the USA Junior National Team, and meeting top athletes whom she had admired…to becoming friends with all of them, and now being a five-time Olympic medalist (and one whom is admired by many!)!
She also talks about getting to make new dreams…and oh, isn’t that what life is all about?
Keep SHINING, Missy! You inspire many.

Sorry about the delay in the video showing up. It is here now 🙂
And Missy smiles, smiles, smiles, smiles, smiles, smiles.
Why doesn’t she go to Istanbul in December? She would swim incredible times after this great start of the season.
It sounds like she has been so busy with appearances and will be until mid December. Thus, it is probably hard for her to focus on competing at Worlds in December, with everything else going on.
I understand that but it’s a little disappointing. I’m just a swimming fan and I always want to watch the best in the water. And an american team without Missy Franklin and Katie Ledecky is a weakest team. We will have to wait for the next summer to watch these 2 diamonds against the other swimmers of the world. It’s long. It’s long.
