Top 3
- Mitch Larkin, St. Peters, 1:55.38
- Ryan Murphy, Cal, 1:56.18
- Jacob Pebley, Cal, 1:56.38
Mitch Larkin got the better of the two Americans tonight, posting a 1:55.38 for the win. Ryan Murphy of Cal earned 2nd place with a 1:56.18, just ahead of Jacob Pebley in 1:56.38.
This was a pretty close race, but Larkin pulled ahead for the win. Murphy won the 100 back race last night.
Brazil’s Leonardo de Deus rolled in for fourth with a 2:01.19, ahead of Jared Gilliland in 2:01.58.
How did Larkin (and for that matter, Seebohm) become great?
by persevering and loving the sport and life
That makes sense. I didn’t know that. Last year, I read a SwimSwam expert’s opinion who questioned Seebohm and Larkin’s rise to Greatness.
2 Olympic golds, 2 Olympic silvers, 4 World championship golds, 4 WC silvers & 2 WC Bronze for Seebohm, she was a world record holder for 50 Back, fastest textile 100 back including Olympic record in 100 back for Seebohm, now not great in comparison compared to Phelps, but pretty impressive.
Larkin, 2 WC golds, 1 WC silver.
I meantvtye rise to Greatness from before 2015 world championships to Kazan.
I am asking this because I read a SwimSwam’s expert opinion who questioned Larkin and Seebohm.
Great swimmer – very smart – very well prepared . Awesome backstroke racings to come this summer
