He finished 14th in the this event at the 2019 World Championships, in a tie with Lithuania’s Danas Rapsys.

Mityukov is on a roll at the European Championships, as he set the 100 back National Swiss Record yesterday during prelims.

In the same heat, Portugal’s Francisco Santos downed his own National Record from March by about .20. 22-year-old Santos finished in 6th place with a time of 1:58.03.

He took out the race .54 faster than his previous record-setting swim, but came back about one-third of a second slower. The results do not currently show splits for Mityukov, besides the fact he had the fastest reaction time of .52, but Santos split his race:

Santos Prev Record
50 56.78 57.32
100 1:01.25 1:00.90
1:58.03 1:58.22

The record Santos beat in March was set by Pedro Diogo Oliveira at 1:58.83 and it had stood since the London 2012 Olympics.
