MN State: Studly Breaststroker Lindsey Horejsi, Coach Jon Schmitz, and Class A winning team Visitation

Minnesota’s Lindsey Horejsi, 2012 Olympic Trials swimmer at the age of 14, is now only a sophmore at Albert Lea. She has posted 1:00 100 yard breaststroke (she owns the MN State record) two years in a row. She also has been working on her IM, posting a 2:02.55 in prelims and 2:02.66 in finals (which she broke the Class A State Championship Record). She also split a nice 22.4 on the end of their 200 freestyle relay (Anna Andersen (10), Ahnika Jensen (10), Haley Simon (10), and Lindsey Horejsi (10)), to get 3rd place overall.

She is not fully rested for this meet, as she is focused on national meet in December. Yet, she still swam blazing fast. We get to have fun seeing what she is capable of in the next few years.

She and her Albert Lea High School Coach, Jon Schmitz talk about her racing, and the great team’s performance. Erik Johnson and Lachelle Sandon, also are both assistant coaches at Albert Lea, who have helped the whole team to their 5th place overall team finish. She swims on Atlantis Swim Club with Coach Mark Vininski during the club season.

Additionally, to close out the Class A State Championships, we hear from the winning team, Visitation’s coach, Nate Linscheid (who actually swam for National Team Swimmer, Bob Hauck and his father, David Hauck at St. Olaf). Meghan Weiss, and Julie Linscheid are his Assistant Coaches for Visitation.
