Moore Tapped to Oversee Duke Recruiting & Communication

DURHAM, N.C. – Duke swimming and diving assistant coach Jesse Moore will now serve as the Blue Devils’ Assistant Coach/Director of Recruiting and Communication, as announced by head coach Dan Colella Wednesday, June 24. Moore enters his fourth season with the men’s and women’s teams in 2015-16.

“Jesse has been with us for three years and done a phenomenal job,” Colella said. “He has helped us bring in some great recruiting classes during his time here. We are very fortunate to have him as a member of our coaching staff, and feel confident he will excel as a point person in the areas of recruiting and communications.”

Moore has been instrumental in the Blue Devils’ recruiting process since arriving in Durham, helping to sign three highly-touted classes of swimmers from around the globe. He has also guided Duke swimmers to 10 podium finishes at the ACC Championships, as well as increased success on the national level. In addition, the Blue Devils’ record books and all-time performance lists have largely been rewritten under his watch.

This past season, Moore saw Leah Goldman become just the second female swimmer to earn all-conference accolades as a rookie during Colella’s tenure at Duke, as she took third in the 100-yard butterfly at the ACC meet. On the men’s side, the 200 medley relay of Kaz Takabayashi, Peter Kropp, David Armstrong and James Peek placed second in the conference en route to garnering the men’s program’s first ‘A’ cut in a relay event since the new qualification standards were implemented. The group went on to reach the event consolation final at the 2015 NCAA Championship.

A four-year member of William & Mary’s swimming and diving program, Moore graduated in 2008 with a degree in neuroscience. He went on to earn a master’s degree in Public Health from Drexel in 2010 and an MBA from William & Mary’s Mason School of Business in 2014.

Moore is a member of the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).
