IM/breaststroker Morganne McKennan of the Quicksilver Swim Club in San Jose, CA, has decided to stay in state and join the San Diego State University Aztecs class of 2020. The senior at Archbishop Mitty High School was a two-time finalist at the 2014 Sectionals in Clovis, CA, placing 2nd in both the 200 LCM (2:37.26) and 100 LCM (1:12.28) breaststroke events.

McKennan’s best times in yards are:

  • 50 breaststroke: 31.15
  • 100 breaststroke: 1:02.59
  • 200 breaststroke: 2:15.30
  • 100 IM: 1:03.75
  • 200 IM: 2:07.90
  • 400 IM: 4:49.83

McKennan’s 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke best times would both place her 6th in each event on the Aztecs women’s swimming all-time top-ten list. Her 100-yard breaststroke would have also given her a spot in the championship final at the 2015 Mountain West Conference. Last season, the Aztecs earned their 3rd conference title in five years.

So far, the Aztecs are putting together a versatile freshman class for next fall. McKennan will join new teammates, freestyle/backstroker Kassidy Hensonall round swimmer McKenna Meyerand fly/freestyler Peyton Wilson in San Diego next fall.
