The quartet of Ana Faria, Maria Costa, Beatriz Silva and Maria Cabral took down Portugal’s national youth record in the 4x100m freestyle relay, registering a new mark of 4:03.10.  Splits for the women were 59.74 for Faria, 1:02.27 for Costa, 1:01.67 for Silva and 59.42 for Cabral.  All but Silva were also members of the 4x200m freestyle relay that broke the juvenile mark in yesterday’s session as well.

Miguel Augustine swam to a new juvenile record in the men’s 200m freestyle, knocking about half of a second off of the old record to now sit as the nation’s new youth to beat in 1:57.11.  Agnes Rocha did similar damage in the youth event of the 400m IM, where she set a new national youth mark of 5:01.00, shaving about a second off of the old record set in 2004.

2015 FINA World Championships squad member for Portugal, Victoria Kaminskaya, clocked the fastest women’s 400m IM time tonight, clinching the win in 4:46.33.  She currently holds Portugal’s record in a time of 4:45.69.

Great Britain picked up a pair of wins at these Open Nats, with breaststroker Christopher Steeples racking up the win in the 50m event in 28.61 and Jessica Fullalove nabbing the first place finish in the women’s 200m backstroke in 2:10.82.
