NAG Record-Holder Justin Nguyen Verbally Commits to USC

Fountain Valley, California’s Justin Nguyen has given a verbal commitment to the University of Southern California for 2017-18. Nguyen swims at Irvine Novaquatics and is a member of four NOVA relay squads with national age group records: 13-14 400m free relay, 13-14 800m free relay, 15-16 200m free relay, and 15-16 800m free relay.

A senior at Fountain Valley High School, Nguyen is the reigning CIF-Southern Section Division I champion in both the 100 free (44.58) and 100 back (48.94). He also split a 22.94 50 fly on Fountain Valley’s 200 medley relay that finished 13th at the 2016 meet.

Nguyen competed in the 50/100/200y free and 100/200y back at 2015 Speedo Winter Junior Nationals West, making the C finals in the 200 free and 200 back. After swimming the 200m back at Olympic Trials, he went on to Speedo Summer Juniors and contested the 50/100m free and 100/200m back.
