Nathan Adrian Happy With 100 Free Despite Inconsistent Training

2013 Mesa Grand Prix

Nathan Adrian’s happy with his 48.4 100 freestyle win at the 2013 Mesa Grand Prix, especially since his training has been inconsistent. (Adrian, now a highly sought after Olympic champion, is rumored to be making very respectable fees from appearances in this post Olympic year. His travel schedule may be interrupting training at times.) Adrian comments he is not too concerned with time now that he’s comfortable putting up 48 mids. Listening to his interview is insightful. He’s breaking down each part, mindful of hitting waves and how his body position didn’t carry him through the chop like he wanted…and he still swam 48.4…in-season.

Adrian is the second seed in tonight’s 50 freestyle final with 22.61, behind Anthony Ervin’s 22.34.
