Rigorous training camp mei jaane ke baad, Gujarat ke swimmers ne khud ke liye liye dozen se bhi jyada medals ka target set kar liya hai 36th National Games ke liye jo ki Surat mei 20th September se start hai.
“Hamare paas kuch bahot bright medals prospects hai aur hum hope karte hai ki pool se sabse jyada medals hum hi layenge,” Kamlesh Nanavati, Gujarat ke swimming coach aur Swimming Federation of India ke vice-president ne kaha.
“Tokyo Olympics participant Mana Patel, Asian Games aur Commonwealth Games ke representative Anshul Kothari, Junior World Championships participants Aryan Nehra, Aryan Panchal aur Devansh Parmar se bahot jyada hai,” unhone add krte huye kaha.
50 medals toh stake par hai swimming mei, jo ki Rajkot mei hone wali hai October 2 se.
Swimmers ko government ki taraf se bhi full support mil raha hai aur wo state-of-the-art swimming pool jo ki Savi Sports Complex, Ahemdabad mei hai waha par training kr rhe hai weeks se.
Dhruv Vyas, jo ki camp ke supervisor hai aur Gujarat team ke assistant coach bhi hai ne reveal kiya hai ki practice session subah 5 baje se start ho jaata hai har din. “Warm up, different swimming sessions, physio, diet aur sabhi necessary things ka dhyan government rakhti hai through-out the day. Paddles, pull buoys aur snorkels jaise equipments arrange kiye gaye hai jisse ki swimmers ko modern techniques ko use kr ke training karne mile,” unhone add krte huye kaha.
Govermnment ke dwara play kiya gaya pro-active role ko players aur coaches dono appreciate kar rahe hai. Aur unka manna hai ki state is ka dividend medals ke form mei reap karega.
Other side par players ye expect kar sakte hai ki wo jo prize receive krte the uskla double ho jayega.
Coach Kamlesh Nanavati ne point out krte huye kaha ki kuch veteran swimmers ne rest kiya tha National Swimming Championship ke time par taaki wo apne best shape mei rah sake National Games mei.
