National Junior Teamer Rhyan White Commits to Alabama

Rhyan White, a member of the 2017-18 USA National Junior Team for her performance in the 200m back this summer, has announced via social media her intention to swim at the University of Alabama in 2018-19. White is adding her name to an already stellar list of verbal commits to the class of 2022: Cathryn Salladin, Kalia Antoniou, Kensey McMahon, and Morgan Liberto. White wrote:

“Stoked to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Alabama!!! rollllll tidddde ?️?”

A senior at Cottonwood High School in Murray, Utah, White is the UHSAA and 5A record-holder in the 100 back with 53.45, her winning time at the 2016 UHSAA 5A State Swimming Championships. She also won the state title in the 100 fly as a sophomore. This past year, as a junior, she won the 200 IM in 2:05.53 and the 100 back in 53.79. She also led off the Cottonwood medley relay in 25.53 and anchored their 400 free relay in 52.23 (both relays took second).

White does her club swimming with Wasatch Front Fish Market. She had an excellent long course season, which she capped off with wins in the 100 back and 200 back at Mount Hood Sectionals. She finaled in all the rest of her events, as well: 100 fly and 200/400 IM. White ended the summer with new PBs in the LCM 50/100/200 back, 100 fly, and 200 IM.
