This afternoon’s home men’s and women’s swimming & diving meet against Loyola and George Mason has tentatively been rescheduled for Saturday at 9 AM in Lejeune Hall. The women’s soccer match at American, which was scheduled for yesterday, has been rescheduled for Tuesday at 3:30 PM.

All sporting events scheduled for this weekend are still pending due to the Department of Defense directive that all intercollegiate athletic competitions at the Service Academies be suspended as a result of the government shutdown. If the government shutdown is resolved the games will be played.

The Naval Academy Athletic Association is monitoring each contest on a day-by-day basis.

Navy and Air Force have received approval from the Department of Defense to play Saturday’s football game at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is set for 11:40 a.m. and the game will be televised nationally by CBS.

The above is a press-release submitted to SwimSwam. Note that in this case, with George Mason and Loyola both being within driving distance of the Naval Academy, the meet is relatively flexible. No such announcement has yet come from the other academies that have meets schedule this weekend.
