NC State Ready To Battle With Texas In #REDOUT At Home Saturday

RALEIGH, N.C.- With the men’s and women’s teams ranked among the top 10 for both programs, the NC State swimming and diving team is ready to battle with Texas Saturday morning in its second home meet of the season. The meet is set for an 11 a.m. start inside Casey Aquatic Center.

Last Time Out

Last weekend the Wolfpack men fell in a matchup with No. 2 California, 170.5-127.5, and dropped its dual with No. 7 Stanford, 164-136.

This Will Be One Fast Meet

With more than 50 NCAA top-15 times held by Texas and NC State’s men and women, Saturday’s meet should make for a close matchup between both programs.

All four teams are listed in the top 10 of the CSCAA polls, as Texas’ men top its respective poll while the women are No. 6. NC State’s women rank seventh and its men check in at No. 8.

A Tough Stretch

For the men’s team, Saturday will mark a two-week stretch of strong competition. Last weekend the men faced No. 2 California and No. 7 Stanford. This weekend the top-ranked defending NCAA Champions are coming to town.

With racing three top-10 programs in a row, this is possibly the toughest stretch of competition the men will face until the postseason where they could see all three squads again as well as several other high-caliber programs.

Strong Start To The Season

The Wolfpack women are off to a strong start to its season. The team has already taken down two top-25 opponents, former No. 8 Southern California and No. 25 Florida State. They hold a 3-0 record heading into the weekend.

Scouting Texas

Texas will enter its weekend with an undefeated record on both sides. The men hold a 4-0 record while the women are 5-0 on its regular season. Prior to coming to Raleigh Saturday, the Longhorns will face UNC-Chapel Hill Friday evening in a dual meet.

Last season the Longhorn men captured the 2015 NCAA Championship title- its 11th in program history, while the women finished seventh.
