NC State Releases 2015-16 Schedule

Head coach Braden Holloway has announced the NC State Swimming & Diving meet schedule for 2015-16. The season will include 3 home meets for the wolfpack and 3 dual meets against conference rivals. The team will also face opponents in the southeast and travel to the west coast.

Once again, the wolfpack will kick of their season at the All-North Carolina Invite. The team will host the invitational in Greensboro from Oct. 2-3.

The NC State women will then travel west Oct. 16-17 for 2 dual meets. First they’ll face the University of Southern California women, who placed in the top 10 at last season’s NCAAs. Immediately after, they’ll have a meet against the University of Hawaii.

The men will continue training at home through that week, but will resume competition with the women on Oct. 24th. NC State will host a tri-meet with FSU and Georgia Tech. This will be the first ACC duel of the season. Last year, both teams won the meet, which was held in Atlanta.

After a week off, the men resume competing with travel meets against Cal and Stanford on Nov. 6-7. At the 2015 NCAA championships, NC State finished less than 10 points behind the Cardinal. This will be an exciting meet between 2 talented teams, as the Wolfpack men look to top their NCAA foes in head to head competition before the post-season.

NC State will host the Texas Longhorns in their 2nd home meet of the season. The Wolfpack men will battle the defending NCAA champions, while the women take on the 7th place Longhorns.

To finish off the fall season, the Wolfpack will compete in the Nike Cup Invite Nov. 19-21. Last year for the men was a close victory over in-state rival UNC, while the women fell short to UNC and Tennessee. This is the only regular season meet in which Tennessee and the Wolfpack will compete against each other.

On Jan. 8-9, the womens team will head south to face Florida International, Miami and Florida Gulf Coast. They’ll rejoin the men before hosting conference foe Virginia on Jan. 22 in its final home meet.

To end the dual meet season, NC State will travel to UNC for one-on-one competition against their biggest in-state rivals. The women finished just 12 points behind the Tarheels last year, and they’ll want to avenge their loss from last season.

The post-season will begin with the women’s ACC Championships in Greensboro Feb. 17-20. A week later, the men will compete at the conference championships Feb. 24-27. The teams were 5th and 1st last year respectively.

On March 17-19, the women’s team qualifiers will head to Atlanta for the Division 1 NCAA championships. The men’s NCAA championships will take place March 24-26, also in Atlanta. They finished in the top 10 last season, while the women were 17th.
