NC State’s Braden Holloway “We Wanted to Prove Ourselves Again”

Despite having to overcome an early deficit from not earning any diving points, the Wolfpack dominated the swimming from the opening relay until the last, led by freestyle stars like Ryan Held, Simonas Bilis, and Anton Ipsen, but also other stroke specialists like Derek Hren and Christian McCurdy.  They won four of five relays and seven of 13 individual events, including sweeping the top three spots in the 100 and 200 freestyle events.

In the video above, Holloway touches a number of different topics, ranging from the depth and progression of the ACC, to what it means to be coaching at a school from which he graduated, to the impact of it being an Olympic year on NC State’s training.

The NCAA championships are up next for the Wolfpack, where the men will be looking to ride the momentum from this win and build on their 8th-place finish last year at the national championships.
