NCAA Champ Hill; National Teamer Krug Added to ‘Fastest Man in Texas’ Shootout

Dax Hill is the latest man added to the 2013 Fastest Man in Texas race. The Josh-Davis hosted event will hand out $10,001 to the winner of a shootout-style 50 yard free competition.

In total, 14 of the 16 participants have now been announced, including three coaches. That includes new Texas A&M volunteer assistant Jason BergstromTiger Christian from Ambush Swimming in East Texas a former UNLV standout.

Also added to the latest lineup is former Auburn All-American Karl Krug, who is now working with SwimAtlanta and is a member of the USA Swimming National Team for 2013-2014 in the 50 free after winning the 50 free at the U.S. Open in August.

Also added are San Antonio natives Cory Bolleter, who swims at Texas A&M, and NCAA standout and Florida State senior Mark Weber.

There’s still two more spots to be announced for this year’s race:

The meet will take place on November 9th at the Josh Davis Natatorium in San Antonio, Texas. Aside from the title of Fastest Man in Texas and the cash prize, the winner will receive a commemorative belt buckle and boots.

Also on the menu of prizes is $3000 for the runner-up and $1000 for the third-place finisher. Jimmy Feigen is the defending champion of the event.

Tickets for the event will be available at the door.
