The women of Queens have no plans of going away any time this weekend.  The second place Royals have had a huge day here on day two in Indy.  With 1 up in the 400 IM, 3 up in the 100 butterfly, as well as 3 up in the 200 freestyle Queens University looks to take back the lead from Drury.  Where Drury did not show their top-end speed in their day two events they definitely made their team depth known in the 200 free. They put 1 up in the 400 IM, 1 down in the 100 butterfly (by a hundredth of a second that could come back to haunt the Panthers) and 1 up with 3 down in the 200 freestyle, meaning the Panthers will need to be ready to roll this evening if they want any chance of slowing down the Queens women.  Nova Southeastern also had a great morning session posting 1 up in the 400 IM, 1 down in the 100 butterfly and 2 up in the women’s 200 freestyle.

On the men’s side of the pool Lindenwood and Grand Valley are tied atop the standings at 94 apiece.  With great performances by their divers last night, Grand Valley tried to keep the momentum on their side going 2 up and 1 down on the morning.  Lindenwood fell to Carson-Newman in their 200 freestyle relay swim off putting the  Lions into a rougher position then they had hoped for in the night 2 session. Individually they still are well represented going 2 up and 3 down this morning.

Drury and Queens continue to go back and forth looking to climb back into the lead. Drury ended the session 3 up and 2 down while Queens posted 3 up and 1 down. The Royals will need to win a couple of relays to get themselves back into the driver’s seat after having to sit out the 200 medley relay on night one.  Here are the up/downs for the day 2 session:

FYI, nobody calls Missouri S&T “Mizzou.”

There are a lot of engineers that might resent you for that 😛
