Day 3 of NCAA’s featured the ladies of Queens and Drury still in a tight battle for the top of the team standings.  Patricia Castro looked relatively relaxed through her 500 leaving the fans in Indianapolis anticipating a new 500 freestyle record this evening.  Queens ended the session 5 up and 3 down leaving the team with the best up/down on the women’s side of the pool.  With the 800 freestyle relay tonight and 3 of their 200 freestylers in the A-final last night we could see our third women’s relay record fall.

Drury will look to block out Castro’s 500 free points with three of their own swimmers in the 500 free final.  Drury ended the session 4 up and 1 down, the Panthers will need some help tonight if they hope to regain the lead at the end of tonight’s session.  Wingate returns 6 swimmers tonight but, with only 1 in a championship final, the Bulldogs will more than likely hold their place at 3rd.

The men of Drury bounced back from a rather average day 2 with an impressive performance in this morning’s session.  The Panthers will have 4 up and two down compared to Queens 3 up and 3 down.  The Queens men will need great night swims from their championship finalists to keep the meet close going into the 800 freestyle relay.

Watch for Lindenwood to begin making their way into the top three after qualifying 3 of their 100 backstrokers into the A-final.  The Lions hold the most championship finalists posting 5 up and 2 down, potentially giving them enough to jump both Grand Valley and Wayne State.
