Purnell is incredibly versatile, with strengths in distance free, back, fly, and IM. She would’ve ranked in the top four on Duke’s 2018-19 roster in the 200 free, 1650 free, 200 fly, 200 IM, and 400 IM. Purnell also would’ve been Duke’s second-best miler last year.

At last year’s ACC Championships, Purnell would’ve scored at 15th in the mile, made B finals in the 400 IM and 200 fly, and made C finals in the 500 free and 200 IM.

Purnell joins Aleyna OzkanCatherine BelyakovEmily Lenihan, Emily Gjertsen and Sarah Foley in Duke’s class of 2024.
