Nebraska, Iowa State to Renew Old Conference Rivalry

The Nebraska swimming and diving team will take on Iowa State, Friday, Oct. 9, at the Devaney Natatorium.  That meet is set to begin at 5 p.m. and will be a pink out. Following the meet there will be a Student Pool Party hosted by the team.

Friday will mark Nebraska’s second meet of the season. The Huskers welcome the Cyclones to Lincoln after dropping last week’s season opener to Arkansas. The Huskers fought hard but fell 174-125 to the Razorbacks.

Nebraska is 33-4-1 all-time against Iowa State. The last time the two programs met was a year ago in Ames, Iowa, where the Huskers defeated the Cyclones, 153-147. Nebraska clinched the victory by winning the final event of the day, the 400-yard freestyle relay.  Anna Filipcic and Jordan Ehly both won two events last year against Iowa State.

Friday’s meet will be Iowa State’s first competition of the year, following their Instrasquad dual held on Oct. 2. The Cyclones are coming off of a record-breaking season that included a second-place finish at the 2015 Big 12 Championships.

Live stats will be available for Friday’s meet and can be found at the following link.

Following Friday’s meet, the Huskers will have nearly two weeks off before the Alumni Meet on Saturday, Oct. 24.  That meet will be in the Devaney Natatorium and the start time is still to be announced.
