Nebraska Secures Verbal from Texas Freestyler Sutton Marvin

Sutton Marvin, a senior at McNeil High School in Austin, Texas, has verbally committed to swim for the University of Nebraska. Marvin swims for the club team Nitro Swimming in Austin, where she specializes primarily in middle-distance and distance freestyle. She is also a captain of the McNeil High School swim team.

Marvin participated at 2015 Speedo Winter Junior Nationals West as a member of the Nitro Swimming 4×200 free relay. Two months later, at the USA Swimming Sectional Championships in College Station, Marvin competed in the 50/200/500y freestyles, the 100/200y back, the 100y fly, and the 200y IM and made finals in the 200m free and 400m free. At Austin Futures this summer she swam the 50/200/400m free and 200m IM.

Marvin’s top SCY times are:

  • 100 free – 53.17
  • 200 free – 1:52.30
  • 500 free – 4:59.77
  • 200 back – 2:07.10
  • 200 fly – 2:07.01
  • 200 IM – 2:09.72

Marvin will enter the University of Nebraska class of 2021 with the following verbal commits:
