Netherlands to Host 2019 European Games

The European Olympic Committee has announced that the second European Games will be held in Netherlands.

The inaugural European Games will be held in Baku this summer and will involve 6,000 athletes from 50 European countries. The games will include:

Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Boxing, Canoeing, Cycling, Diving, Fencing, Football, Gymnastics, Judo, Karate, Sambo, Swimming, Synchronized Swimming, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Triathlon, Volleyball, Water Polo and Wrestling.

Since the swimming events will be held from June 23rd-27th, which is a hectic time in the international calendar. Because of this fact LEN decided that they would only send junior athletes between the ages of 14 and 18.

The second European Games will be held in 2019.

The Netherlands was the only country to bid for the games stressing”prioritises flexibility, sustainability and world-class quality”.
