COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Nevada’s Donna dePolo and Laura Isabel Vazquez Lopez have notched MW Swimming and Diving Peak Player of the Week honors. The Wolf Pack duo led Nevada to a victory over Boise State, as dePolo was named swimmer of the week, while Vazquez Lopez garnered diver of the week accolades for their respective performances.
This marks dePolo’s first career weekly honor and Vazquez Lopez’s third overall and second consecutive.
SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Donna dePolo, Nevada
Junior, Reno, Nevada/Bishop Manogue HS
- Placed atop the podium in two individual events and one medley, helping Nevada to a 187-113 victory against Boise State.
- Swam a 1:01.57 in the 100 breast and a 2:14.55 in the 200 breast. The junior’s 100 breast time is 22nd-best in the nation, and a NCAA B cut split.
- Was an integral leg of the 200 medley relay that won the event and posted the 26th-best time in the NCAA.
DIVER OF THE WEEK
Laura Isabel Vazquez Lopez, Nevada
Sophomore, Guadalajara, Mexico
- Helped lead the Wolf Pack to a 187-113 victory over MW foe Boise State, helping Nevada move to 5-0 on the season. The sophomore won both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives during the meet.
- Tallied the second-best Conference score of the season with a 321.23 on the 1-meter board.
- Recorded an impressive 338.18 on the 3-meter dive.
