New Chief of Competitive Sports at Swiss Swimming

Markus Buck (34) will take over the duties of the “chief competitive sports” at Swiss swimming by his predecessor Steffen Liess over the next months –  Liess will focus until September 2016 on some important projects like the “Mission Rio 2016” or the Swiss Swimming training base in Tenero.

Markus Buck, a graduate sports scientist at the University of Leipzig, has a profound knowledge in swimming and a lot of experience as a swim coach. In Switzerland, he worked as a head coach at the  swim club Kreuzlingen from 2008 to 2010. He is a Swiss certified coach for high performance swimming. Since 2013 he has been active as the head coach at the swim club Kreuzlingen again. He will give up this role step by step and then takes over on December 1 the new task with a 60% quota first.

In the position as a national coach diagnosis and later as national coach swimming for the German Swimming Federation (DSV) he was in the management and development of the German competitive swimming. As part of his activities for the DSV, he led the swimming team at the 2012 Olympics in London.
