The 2015 World University Games are set to take place in Gwangju, South Korea on July 3-14th, and we now know who will be there from Team New Zealand. The country announced its 19-member roster, the biggest in New Zealand program’s history, as they prepare to take on the 28th edition of the meet.
New Zealand is looking to get back on track after a disappointing 2013 where the team came home empty-handed in terms of medals, with no Kiwi finishing in the top three in any swimming event. That was especially disappointing after a significant showing in 2011, where New Zealand swam away with 12 medals, including golds by Glenn Snyders in the 200m breaststroke and Lauren Boyle in the 800m freestyle.
