The New Zealand Swimming Trust has announced the names of those receiving its 2016 grants. These grants are issued to encourage development of the sport of swimming in New Zealand, as well as support elite swimmers in their athletic careers.

A special grant, listed above as the “Rio Build Up Grant,” was given out this year to support athletes who need it on their journey to Rio. NZ is sending eight swimmers to Rio— the seven mentioned above, who will receive the Rio Build Up Grant, as well as two-time Olympian Lauren Boyle.
