NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, NY – The Niagara men’s and women’s swim team earned wins over visiting Le Moyne on Friday night at the Oxy Aquatic Center.
Men’s Recap
The men topped Le Moyne 142-60 on Friday night.
The Purple Eagles won both relay’s, first the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:30.55 from Gio Germano, Jake Lauzonis, Levi Morgan, and TyQuann Walker, followed by the 400 free relay with a time of 3:14.09 from Thomas Latimer, Reid Tichy, Owen Stoneburgh, and Greame Staples.
Nathan Dragon won a pair of events, first the 1650 free with a time of 16:28.33, followed by a time of 59.54 in the 100 breast to take the top spot.
A total of six other Purple Eagles won events on the night. Tichy took the top spot in the 200 free of 1:42.76, Latimer won the 400 IM in 4:05.65, and Morgan won the 100 free with a time of 46.30.
Jake Wade finished first 100 fly with a time of 52.16, while Robert Flannery earned the win in the 100 back with a time of 52.66.
RJ Helt won the 500 free with a time of 4:58.40.
Women’s Recap
The women earned a 143-59 win over Le Moyne with reigning MAAC Swimmer of the Week Alaina Pitton and Paige South notching a pair of victories.
Pitton won the 50 free and 100 free events with times of 23.86 and 53.07, respectively, while South when the 200 free with a time of 1:52.47 and 100 back with a mark of 56.60.
Niagara swept the relay’s Friday night, including the 400 medley relay to start the event as Megan Jackson, Megan Smith, Pitton, and Baileigh Racky finishing with a time of 3:55.42.
In the 400 free relay to end the night, Mary Carl, Claire Gorton, Shani Fridman, and Jackson finished with a time of 3:32.29 to win the event.
Smith and Racky, who helped Niagara win the 400 medley relay, earned individual wins in the 400 IM and 100 fly, respectively. Smith won the 400 IM with a time of 4:32.55, while Racky posted a time of 58.89 to take the top spot in the 100 fly.
Gorton, a member of the final relay team, won the 500 free with a time of 5:14.49.
Avery King won the 1650 free by over 30-seconds with a time of 17:41.80 and Chloe Vlaeminck won the 100 breast with a time of 1:07.72.

Niagara Falls, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams traveled to Niagara University on Friday, January 26th.
On the men’s side, freshman Justin Enser (Hilton, N.Y. / Hilton) finished first in the 50 freestyle with a time of 21.53.
The quartet of the of Enser, redshirt-junior Ryan MaMahon (Syracuse, N.Y. / West Genesee), freshman Michael Han (Auckland, New Zealandd / Pakuranga College), and junior Belal Aly (Syracuse, N.Y. / PSLA @ Fowler) finished third in the 400 Medley with a time of 3:39.34.
Another quartet of Enser, sophomore Xavier Silaika (Rexford, N.Y. / Shenendehowa),
freshman Jackson James (Niagara Falls, N.Y. / Niagara Wheatfeild), and sophomore Nate Kwait (Farfield, Conn. / Fairfield) finished second with a time of 3:21.72.
Freshman Tim Landgraf (Lexington, N.Y.) finished second in the 100 backstroke with a time of 55.27.
McMahon finished second in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:06.21, and in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:03.38.
On the women’s side, redshirt-junior Lily Buchholz (Skaneateles, N.Y. / Skaneateles), freshman Victoria Hewitt (Fulshear, Texas / Jordan), freshman Kayleigh Bigwarfe (Glenmont, N.Y. / Bethlehem), junior Alexandra Welliver (Elmira, N.Y. / Elmira Notre Dame) earned second-place points in the 400 freestyle with a time of 3:55.
Freshman Lucy Catalano (Glenville, N.Y. / Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) finished third in the 50 freestyle with a time of 25.91, and the 100 free with a time of 57.11.
Sophomore Brooke Sommo (Guiderland, N.Y. / Guilderland) finished second the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:02.27.
Redshirt-junior MaryLauren Burke (Hopkinton, Mass. / Hopkinton) finished third in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 1:02.58.
Junior Ella Kaback (Delmar, N.Y. / Bethlehem) finished second in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:14.29.
Buchholz finished second in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:31.39.
The Dolphins will compete at the NEC Championships from February 20th-24th in Geneva, Ohio.
