Niemann Finishes as Top U.S. Woman in Pan-American Modern Pentathlon

DENVER – University of Denver senior women’s swimmer Avery Niemann (Oklahoma City, Okla.) competed earlier this month at the 2018 Pan-American Modern Pentathlon Championships, finishing 14th in the event, the top finishing American woman in the test event for the 2019 American Games in Lima, Peru.

Niemann finished with the best swimming time to earn 298 points from the event. The Denver senior also earned 289 points from riding (sixth overall), 220 points from fencing (21st overall) and 395 points (27th overall) from the combined shooting and running discipline.
