I believe you have to have the time and a minimun GPA of 3.50 to be All-American.

Not true. As mentioned above the coach is the primary “driver” in making sure that the All American applications are submitted. It is a relatively simple process and is based solely on performance in the pool. NISCA has another set of awards that recognize academic performance.

That’s to be a scholastic academic all American, that’s an award presented by USA swimming

Karl Arvidsson won the CIF-CCS 100 breast for Woodside HS at 54.97, and many others are missing (from my simple scans of the times). There should be a better surveillance system by Nisca AA eligible times other than “coach input”. The kids should get their certificates.

In order to qualify for the All America list the coach has to submit an application and proof of the time. If anyone is missing from the list it is because the coach didn’t submit the app.

Coaches need to do that for sure. Glad to see Carmel Indiana on the girls side. I like the smaller states than the large ones that do well.

The certificates will go out shortly, and the list will be published in the sept/Oct journal. If there is an error on the certificate you can report it to the chair so it can be corrected before the list goes out. More info at http://www.niscaonline.org/Award-Programs/National-Dual-Meet.
