Nittany Lion Aquatic Club’s Jackson Etter Commits to Indiana

Jackson Etter, who swims for head coach Ryan Sprang and Nittany Lion Aquatic Club, verbally committed to Indiana University on November 5, 2015. Etter is a Winter Juniors qualifier in the 400 IM, an Open Water Nationals qualifier, and a two time USA Swimming Scholastic All American.

Etter earned his Winter Junior National qualifying time at the Greensboro Futures meet, where he dropped nearly 5 seconds in finals of the 400 IM. He qualified for Open Water Nationals by winning the Eastern Zone qualifier in Atlantic City’s Bridge to Bridge 5k. It was his second career open water 5k, and his winning time, 59:31, was his second time under an hour. Etter’s top swims include:

A High Honors student at State College Area High School, Etter said he chose Indiana “for the athletic and academic opportunities provided by a national level program and a Big 10 University. I want to thank Head Coach Ray Looze and the rest of the staff for seeing potential in me and inviting me to be a part of the IU family.”

Joining him in the IU family will be fellow class of 2020 commits Alex Vissering, Chris Quarin, and Felix Auböck.
