North Carolina High School State Finalist Landon Lloyd Commits to Auburn University

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Landon Lloyd, a North Carolina 4A High School State finalist, has announced his intention to continue his academic and athletic careers at Auburn University. Currently in his junior year of high school, Lloyd is set to arrive in Alabama ahead of the 2024-2025 season.

Lloyd is from Cary, North Carolina where he attends Green Hope High School. He currently trains and competes with the TAC Titans.

Lloyd excels across disciplines, owning Futures qualifying times in freestyle, backstroke, butterfly, and IM events. In the 200 SCY free, his best time is a 2021 Winter Juniors cut.

Best Times SCY:

  • 100 free – 45.40
  • 200 free – 1:39.08
  • 100 back – 51.75
  • 100 fly – 49.71
  • 200 fly – 1:52.22
  • 200 IM – 1:53.48

In February, Lloyd competed at the North Carolina 4A (largest schools) High School State Championships. There, he swam the 100 and 200 free individually, and also competed as part of Green Hope’s 400 freestyle relay.

In the 100 free, Lloyd placed third in a time of 45.70, just three-tenths shy of his PB set in December 2021. In the 200 free, he placed eighth in 1:41.62, and went on to lower his best time down to 1:39.08 the following month. In the 400 free relay, he led off Green Hope’s winning squad with a 46.01 opening leg.

Auburn finished sixth at the 2022 SEC Championships, the team’s highest since 2018. They went on to send six men to the 2022 NCAA Championships, finishing 29th overall.

The 2022-2023 season marks head coach Ryan Wochomurka’s second year at the helm.

Over the summer, more than 30 Tigers competed at the Phillips 66 National Championships. Collectively, they posted 30 final swims, claiming 11 top-15 and 4 top-10 performances.

So far this season, the men have enjoyed a victory at the USC Invite over USC, the University of Hawaii, and UC San Diego. They also won their dual meet against LSU, 208-92.

Lloyd joins a growing class of 2024 commits, including Aiden Clements, Jack Ailshire, Andy Commins, Aidan Siers, Isaac Lee, and Keaton Rice
