Northeastern Picks Up Sprinter Adrianna Lojewski (2024)

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

USA Swimming Scholastic All-American Adrianna Lojewski has announced her verbal commitment to Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. Lojewski is wrapping up her junior year at Winter Park High School, located in Winter Park, Florida. She is set to graduate in the spring of 2024, and will arrive in Boston for the 2024-2025 season.

She shared why she chose Northeastern with SwimSwam:

From the team to the amazing academics everything about Northeastern just stands out to me and feels like a second home already!

Lojewski trains and competes year-round with the Blue Dolphins in Oviedo, Florida. She’s primarily a sprint freestyle specialist, with the occasional fly event thrown in. She recently finished up her short course season at the Florida Senior Championships, where her highest finish was in the 100 free at 7th (51.55).

Her 100 free time in the individual race was not a best time, however, as the lead-off on her team’s 400 freestyle relay she dropped a few tenths to hit a best of 51.30. She also dropped well over a second in the 200 freestyle, swimming a 1:52.80 to finish 15th overall.

In terms of long course racing, Lojewski has already notched a personal best time this year. At the Pro Swim Series stop in Fort Lauderdale, she cracked 27-seconds for the first time in the 50m freestyle to finish 35th (26.79). She also competed in the 100 free (1:00.19) and 50 fly (28.64), both of which she improved on her season best times set at Sectionals.

Top SCY Times:

  • 50 free – 23.86
  • 100 free – 51.30
  • 200 free – 1:52.80
  • 100 fly – 57.43

Northeastern University is an NCAA Division I mid-major program that competes in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA). This year, the Huskies recorded their highest conference finish at 3rd, where they were led by junior Jamie Koo and freshman Anna Verlander, who won an event each.

Koo won the 50 freestyle in a program and meet record time of 22.21. She was joined by 5th-year Kira Parker in the A-final, who placed 6th (23.05). Parker led the way in the 100, going a 50.31 to take 6th again. Lojewski is just inside of scoring range in the 100, where it took a 51.36 to advance this year.

Joining Lojewski in Northeastern’s class of 2028 is Kate Kerber and Peyton Knightly. This class is freestyle-heavy so far, with Kerber swimming a mix of freestyle and butterfly, and Knightly focusing on mid-distance events.
