Norway’s Mats Kamnes Commits to University of the Cumberlands

Mats Kamnes, a graduate of Lørenskog Videregående Skole in Lørenskog, Norway, has announced his commitment to swim for NAIA D1 University of the Cumberlands. Kamnes will join U of C’s class of 2023.

Kamnes, who swims for the club swim team SK Speed in Norway, with be joining U of C’s Patriots under Coach Eric Skelly beginning fall 2019. At U of C, Kamnes will be swimming freestyle and breaststroke events.

This year at U of C’s Mid-South Conference, the men’s swim team went from being ranked 3rd to being crowned MSC’S Champions. This was only the second time the team has won a conference title and it is the first title since 2015.

In addition, 18 Patriots were awarded CSCAA Scholar All-American Recognition.
