Alabama HS State Champ Sadler McKeen has verbally committed to the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame.
I chose the University of Notre Dame for the unrivaled combination of academics and athletics. I believe the coaches and team will play a primary role in developing me as a student athlete. I am excited to join the Notre Dame family! Go Irish! (Philippians 3:13-14)
McKeen, who swims with Life Time Swim Team Southeast (LTSE), is a distance freestyler. He’s coming off of a junior high school season where, representing Briarwood Christian School, he won the AHSAA 500 free title (4:31.22) and finished 2nd in the 200 free (1:40.94).

- 200 free – 1:40.26 (1:54.29 LCM)
- 500/400 free – 4:31.22 (4:00.11 LCM)
- 1650/1500 free – 15:39.83 (16:13.45 LCM)

While McKeen isn’t a ready-made ACC scorer with his current best times, he’s only about a second away from 24th place in the 1650 free at last year’s ACC Championships. Richard Mannix and Connor Brown both scored in the mile at those championships– McKeen will join them in ND’s distance group next year.
Untapped potential. Great pick up for the Irish. Awesome kid from a great family! Go irish!!
