NSU Picks Up Verbal Commitment from Fishers Sprinter Amilia Nusbaum

Amilia Nusbaum from Fishers, Indiana has announced her commitment to swim for Nova Southeastern University in the fall.

“I’m excited to announce my verbal commitment to Nova Southeastern University. Thank you to everyone that helped me through the recruiting process. I can’t wait to start a new chapter of my life in Florida. Go Sharks!”

Nusbaum is a senior at Fishers High School, where she is a sprint free specialist. She placed 13th in the 50 free (23.79) and 10th in the 100 free (51.97) at the 2017 IHSAA Girls’ Swimming/Diving Championship last February. She also contributed to Fishers’ third-place 200 free relay (23.84 leadoff) and 10th-place 400 free relay (52.11 leadoff).

Swimming year-round for Fishers Area Swimming Tigers, Nusbaum extends her freestyle range out to the 500 and competes in fly and IM, as well. She earned best times this summer in the LCM 50/100/200/400/1500 free and 100 fly. At 2017 Speedo Winter Juniors East, Nusbaum went PBs in the 50/100/200 free leading off all three FAST freestyle relays. She dropped 9/10 in the 100 free and picked up her first Winter Juniors cut.
