NTRO Backstroker Brittany Thompson Makes Verbal Commitment to LSU

Bee Cave, Texas-native Brittany Thompson has given her verbal commitment to Louisiana State University for the 2018-19 season.

“I am so excited to be a part of the Louisiana State University swim team because their facilities and team atmosphere are unbeatable. I instantly connected with the coaches and the team, and I truly feel that I can perform my best as a tiger. I can’t wait to join the team! GEAUX TIGERS!”

Thompson is a USA Swimming All-American who swims with Nitro Swimming outside of Austin. She was a B finalist in the 200 backstroke at the 2016 Winter Juniors West, where she also competed in the 100 back, 100/200 fly, and 200 IM. At Austin Sectionals in July she picked up new PBs in the 50/100/200m back, 200m fly, and 200m IM.

  • 100 back – 55.38
  • 200 back – 1:59.33
  • 200 IM – 2:02.66
  • 100 fly – 56.85
  • 200 fly – 2:03.17
