Mia Lachey, a senior at New Albany High School in New Albany, Ohio, has announced her intention to swim for The Ohio State University in 2020-21.

Lachey swims free and IM in high school. She was a member of the state-champion 400 free relay (with a 51.82 split) at the 2019 Ohio High School Division 1 State Meet. She also placed 13th in the 100 free (52.21) and 11th in the 200 IM (2:06.21) and contributed to the 4th-place 200 free relay (23.62). Lachey swims year-round with Ohio State Swim Club with whom she swam at 2018 Winter Juniors East, leading off the 400 and 800 free relays. She picked up a pair of PBs (100 breast and 200 IM) in Time Trials at the meet. This summer she competed in the LCM 50/100/200/400 free and 200 back at Cleveland Sectionals. She made finals in the 400 free.
Lachey will join Catherine Russo, Janessa Mathews, Katherine “KitKat” Zenick, Kyra Sommerstad, Liberty Gilbert, and Maya Geringer in the class of 2025. It took 50.57/1:48.56 to score in the 100/200 freestyle at 2019 B1G Championships.
