The Buckeyes are just a week away from the preliminary competition of U.S. Collegiate Nationals in Texas. The team is preparing their solo, duet, trio, and team routines to impress the judging panel and continue the tradition of excellence Ohio State Synchronized Swimming has built. After remaining undefeated in the team routine category, the Buckeyes are hoping the momentum can propel them into successful prelims performances in San Antonio next week.

The training continues for synchro, working on precise timing and consistency in execution. The program has long been known for mixing artistry with a high level of athleticism. The lifts are extremely complex and difficult, and the Buckeyes do a phenomenal job of fusing their strength and performance capabilities to put on a show. The athletes spend years perfecting their synchro technique and competing with their respective teams prior to becoming collegiate student-athletes. Under the direction of Head Coach Holly Vargo-Brown and Associate Head Coach Suzanna Hyatt, athletes from all over the country, and internationally, come together to compete at the collegiate level and represent the Block O. The training from Strength and Conditioning Coach Kim Dally-Badgeley without a doubt gives the team a competitive edge.

This year’s routines are no exception. Continuing to push boundaries and elevating the difficulty, this team is ready to show the country what they have been working hard on. The theme for the team routines is ‘Birds & Bees’, Check out the video below for a sneak-peak of what the Buckeyes will perform in the preliminary competition.
