COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State synchronized (artistic) swimming team is set to compete at and host the U.S. Collegiate Championship this weekend at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion. The championship event will be held March 25-27 as collegiate teams across the nation vie for a national championship, the first time in nearly three years that a full championship will be held.
Tickets for the event can be purchased on Ticketmaster. Single session and all-session tickets are available. Tickets are $15 for each day for adults, $10 for seniors and youth. All session passes are $30 for adults and $15 for youth and seniors.

CHAMPIONSHIP SCHEDULE
The event starts on Friday with the duet, solo and trio competition. Saturday’s events include the technical competition and team preliminary competition. Competition begins at 10 a.m. on both Friday and Saturday.
Finals will be contested on Sunday, with trio finals starting at 8:20 a.m. The team final will be the last event swam of the championship at 1:30 with overall awards to be presented at the conclusion of the meet.
In addition to the collegiate competition, the U.S. national team will also be in attendance and showcase its routines as well.

OHIO STATE AT THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
The Buckeyes are one of the most decorated collegiate programs in synchronized (artistic) swimming. Since 1977, the program has won 32 national titles and 101 event titles. OSU’s most recent national championship came in 2019 as the team swept the solo, duet, trio and team competition to earn the overall title.
Head Coach Holly Vargo-Brown has led the Buckeyes to seven national titles in her tenure.
Ohio State has hosted the national championship meet seven times prior to this year. The team has won national titles six of the seven years the meet has been held in Columbus. The last time the event came to Ohio State was in 2017 when the Buckeyes won their 30th national title, including event titles in the solo, duet and team routines.
At last year’s national championship, the Buckeyes took second place overall with silver finishes in the solo and team competition and bronze in duet and trio.
OHIO STATE AS OF LATE
The Buckeyes last competed at the 2022 North Regional Championships, with the team sweeping the events. Nikki Dzurko remained undefeated on the year in the solo competition for her second solo regional title. The senior earned the solo routine U.S. Collegiate Championships in 2019.
In the duet, Dzurko and Laila Huric lead the Buckeyes with three wins on the year. Following closely behind in scoring is the duo of Emily Armstrong and Ruby Remati. Dzurko and Huric won the national title in 2019.
The trio of Armstrong, Remati and Cassie Neeley won the North Regional with a season-best score of 84.9000. In the team competition, the Scarlet squad of Armstrong, Hannah Heffernan, Paige Hopper, Huric, Rachel Jager, Neeley, Dzurko and Remati won the team category with a score of 87.8333.
