OHSAA State Record-holder Parker Timken Verbally Commits to NC State

Parker Timken from Canton, Ohio has announced her intention to swim for NC State’s Wolfpack beginning in the fall of 2019. She will join Elle Giesler, Faith Hefner, Kay Foley, and Maddy Flickinger as part of the class of 2023.

“Super proud to announce my verbal commitment to North Carolina State University!! Thank you to all my friends and family who supported me and helped me along the way! I’m so grateful for everything!! #GoPack”

Timken won 2 Ohio High School Division 1 state titles as the anchor leg of North Canton Hoover’s 200 and 400 free relays, capturing a state record with a time of 1:32.35 in the 200 free relay (crushing the previous record of 1:33.87). She further contributed to North Canton Hoover’s second-place team finish with individual silver medals in the 50 free (23.06) and 100 free (49.96), both of which were PBs with huge time drops (-0.41 in the 50 and -1.60 in the 100).

Timken does her year-round swimming with Canton City Schools swim team under the coaching of Mike Davidson. There, she has extended her repertoire to include fly, breast, and IM. Since the start of her junior year she has lowered her PBs in the SCY 50/100/200/500/1000 free, 50/100 breast, 100 fly, and 200 IM, and in the LCM 50/100/200 free and 50 fly. Parker was a C-finalist at NCSA Spring Championship in the 50 and 100 free, and a D-finalist in the 50 free and 50 fly at TYR Pro Series in Mesa, where she went 4-for-4 with PRs

She reminds me of another incoming freshman from 2009 who came in with a 24.0/51.6/150.8 and left with a 22.5/48.9/146.3, most of that after Team Holloway came in her Junior year. Great place to progress! Congrats to Parker

so basically NC State, Arizona State, Virginia, Va Tech and Indiana have 7,950 spots for swimmers. After one year, they may switch among the teams.
