Olympian Haley Anderson Set to Make Hometown Appearance

U.S. Olympic silver medalist and recent World Championships gold medalist Haley Anderson (Granite Bay, Calif.) will make a hometown appearance with the Sierra Marlins Swim Team at Lake Natomas on Saturday, Aug. 31 at 9 a.m. PT in Folsom, Calif.

“I’m so excited to go back home and promote open water swimming,” Anderson said. “This sport has given me so much, and I can’t wait to share it with the community and team that I grew up with.”

Anderson’s three-hour, open-water clinic will focus on race technique, spotting and drafting for the older swimmers in attendance, while focusing on water safety and fun for the younger swimmers. She will also do a Q&A before ending her appearance with a photograph and autograph session for the expected 300 participants.

The event is open to the media, but participation is limited to the Sierra Marlins Swim Team.

Anderson’s appearance with Sierra Marlins Swim Team at Lake Natomas is part of USA Swimming’s Athlete Partnership Program. The program is a platform for National Team swimmer to encourage kids and adults to take up the sport as a healthy and positive activity. These appearances directly promote the sport and the healthy lifestyle it represents. To find more information about how to get started in the sport, visit www.swimtoday.org.
