The Foot Locker Scholar Athletes program honors athletes for demonstrating excellence in school, on their sports team, and in their communities. Twenty winners of this program each received $20,000 in scholarship funding for college.
Felix was chosen through a selection process in which celebrity judges and scholarship experts reviewed and rated essays. Tyler served as a judge on a panel that also included NBA player, Chris Paul and WNBA player, Maya Moore just to name a few.

Congratulations to Felix – Thanks to Foot Locker for the terrific program. Why the hell should Clary be congratulated? Clary should not be part of any panel which makes decisions involving young athletes.
Tyler Clary is an amazing dude and deserves tons of credit. What an added bonus for Felix to be able to meet him. Haters go home please (to mama)
Best of luck to Felix!
Congratulations to JIGGS for the intelligent comment. While you may think Clary is an amazing dude, I disagree. Foot Locker donated the money (not Clary). It seems that Clary likes to “volunteer” his time to sit on panels. There is a certain level of integrity and responsibility that comes with being a panel member – regardless of the panel. From personal experience, Clary is more of a seat filler and lacks the ability to make independent and unbiased decisions. Some people sit on panels for photo ops or to beef up their resumes and ignore the purpose of being a panel member.

Very nice of Footlocker to do this… it’s a little funny that one of the recipients is a swimmer though. I wonder if they wanted to an athlete who actually USES shoes to compete.
The profile states his sports are soccer, cross country and track and field.
Congrats to Tyler for making a difference is some else’s life!
