Speedo USA, a division of PVH Corp. (NYSE: PVH), today announced that 24-year-old rising swim star Conor Dwyer has signed a multi-year agreement with the company through 2016. Dwyer, one of the stars of Team USA, made his Olympic debut in London and won gold as part of the history-making 4x200m Freestyle Relay at the 2012 Summer Games. The versatile swimmer joins Team Speedo with his sights set on the 15th FINA World Championships in Barcelona, Spain where he hopes to represent the USA in the freestyle and medley events and relays.

Dwyer, who is an Illinois native, continues to live and train in Florida under UF Head Coach Gregg Troy and alongside fellow Gator alum and Olympic teammate Ryan Lochte.
“I am very excited to be a part of the Speedo family,” said Dwyer. “Speedo is the top name in swimwear and I appreciate the brand’s support as I embark on my professional swim career.”

He qualified for the 2012 Olympic team by finishing second in the 400m free and fourth in the 200m free, recording personal best times in both, at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Swim Trials in Omaha.
As part of Team Speedo USA, Dwyer will be part of an athlete advisory group to the SPEEDO Aqualab, the brand’s research and development center, and will train and compete in Speedo suits, accessories and related gear.

With Ryan Lochte and Ricky Berens he’s a decisive swimmer for the American 4X200 free relay. On individual I don’t know very well in which race he’s the best but I think his future is probably the 200 free. He’s tall, powerful, has endurance. But for the moment he hasn’t enough speed. If he can improve his easy speed in the next years he will become dangerous for the olympic medals in 2016.
I’m really interested to see what he goes this summer in the 400 IM. He went a 4:15 at altitude at Pan Ams on little rest, and didn’t swim it at Trials because it conflicted with the 400 free, but that won’t be the case this year. Either way, he still has a huge upside and will be a big factor for the US team in several events heading into Rio.
Great decision Conor ! looking forward to see him in the Us trials !!! 200 IM , 200 free , and 800 free relay for sure in the pocket .
Fantastic relay swimmer and very goood IM swimmer too . His 200 free can still improve to be around 1.44/45 this year or so . Looking forward to see where he will be at trials … Way to go Conor . GATORS have always great swimmers on their team .
Congrats Connor. Work hard always pays. Go Gators
