The official heat sheets for the Olympic Games have been posted on the official Olympic website after the official manager’s meeting on Thursday.
Heat sheets here, choose an event to see the list.
We haven’t been able to find many significant deviations from previously reported entries. The heat sheets are in a state of flux, though, so keep an eye on them as the meet progresses.
Cielo on 4×100 medley relay… no reserve for free..
Well, this is good news.
Now Brazil can qualify to final. I want to see all the best teams race in the final, and I’m glad of this BRA decision.
Albertinho is serious about wanting that medal..
For Orzechowski Lima and Kaio (first 2 on prelims probably) is their only shot for medal..
Looks like both frasers are in the 200.
Heat sheets seem to be in a state of flux…
Earlier this morning, they had Dana Vollmer showing as the only swimmer in the US women’s 4×200 free relay prelims pool.
Interesting news coming out of France:
http://www.lequipe.fr/Natation/Actualites/Leveaux-lancera-le-relais/301328
The Prelims swimmers will be Leveaux, Lefert, Bernard, and Stravius– with meynard out. Gilot and Agnel will be saved for Finals.
I don’t know how confident I am with the decision to leave Meynard out. Had he been on the finals relay on top form, I would definitely choose that relay over the US. At the moment I’m hoping they dont put Bernard on this team. Stravius’ return to form is probably going to need to look pretty good if that’s going to happen though.
On Milorad Cavic’s athlete profile, under Most memorable sporting achievement:
Realising his Olympic dreams by winning a gold medal at the Beijing Olympic Games. (miloradcavic.com, 12 Jul 2011)
Ouch. Still not ready to let that go.
Matt Grevers is 229 pounds?! Yikes, he HAS to be the heaviest swimmer competing at the games. Also surprising is Thiago Pereira`s weight, which is listed at only 148 (despite being six feet tall).
fun fun ….we don`t care ,,,just details have fun
I think a big part of that is the goggle marks around her eyes.
Damir Dugonjic is actually listed at 231.
Matt McLean looks heavier and softer than Grevers
França is also a very heavy swimmer, one of the heaviest probably.. even now that he lost a LOT of weight I saw a training photo on Crystal with him and Cielo he is MUCH MUCH larger than Cielo.
Pereira was not a very healthy swimmer in USA… he got himself a good nutrition team in brazil.. so he is much thinner than 2011..
I can’t remember if you reported this earlier, but Agnel is not entered in the 200 free either!
weird…if you click his name it shows that he’s swimming it but he’s not listed in the heats…
Looks like he’s on there….top seed!
just glanced at a few of the heats, so this could be the tip of the iceberg, but i was shocked to see tyler mcgill, presumed third seed, in heat one of 100 fly with no seed time swimming against a 1:10….furthermore, all six of usa relays are seeded last and in outside lane of first heat, while all six of australia’s relays are seeded first, in lane four of the second heat…presumably, this won’t be much of a problem, but, still, how did it happen?
if anybody has any credible information, i would be interested….
Great Britain also has two male swimmers entered in the 200m back, even though one of them (Marco Loughran) did not make the Olympic qualifying time at the trials.
Marco swam 1:58.34 in June to get his A time.
I’m guessing they seeded the relays by alphabetical order?
i thought you might be joking, but you appear to be correct about the alphabetical seeding of the relays (china must be ‘republic of china’)….it seems an absurdly inappropriate method….wouldn’t it make more sense to add official times of four eligible relay swimmers?
i’m now wondering if relay heats will be reseeded when teams announce/declare
prelim line-ups….just a guess….i’m too lazy to look for a rule…
never mind…relays have now been reseeded, as well….not an auspicious start for the technology…
the fly heats have been corrected….mcgill is now where he should be….not as inept as displaying the south korean flag for the north korean women’s soccer team on wednesday, i guess, but still not a confidence builder….
Was just about to say this. Talked to some coaches, sounds like there was a computer issue of some sort.
