Olympic Star Aaron Peirsol Talks Ryan Murphy and The Elite U.S. Backstroke Club

“it’s good to root for the people you’re competing against… think about what it is to be a good sport… you’re bringing out the best in yourself but you’re asking those around you to bring out the best in themselves too… that should make you better, that shouldn’t make you fearful…”

I had the pleasure of meeting him in passing one time, and I always wanted to be able to sit down with him and just talk. He seems like a really good man.

….such a nice guy, easy company, and good conversation. He’s in Hawaii, up with the sun at 6am to have a chat. From my experience, the more time you spend with him, the nuggets of wisdom shakeout. His swim IQ is off the charts.
