Oregon State Secures Verbal from 11x OSAA Champion Lauren Yon

Lauren Yon of Sweet Home, Oregon has verbally committed to swim for Oregon State University beginning in the fall of 2018.

“I am SO excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim for OSU next year!!! GO Beavs!!!”

Yon is a senior at Sweet Home High School and a five-time individual 4A/3A/2A/1A state champion. She has also been a part of six state-championship relay teams over the course of her high school career. At the 2017 OSAA 4A/3A/2A/1A Girls’ Swimming State Meet, Yon contributed to Sweet Home’s second consecutive team title with wins in the 200 IM (2:07.76) and 100 breast (1:06.38), as well as legs on the winning 200 free and 400 free relays.

Yon swims year-round with Sweet Home Swim Club, where she specializes mainly in breast and IM. She also has a strong 200 back (2:04.79) and 100/200 free. She achieved all her best SCY times at the 2017 Washington Open in January. Yon had a strong LCM season, too, improving in the 100 back, 50/100/200 breast, and 400 IM.

  • 100 free – 52.91
  • 100 breast – 1:05.72
  • 200 breast – 2:21.10
  • 200 IM – 2:07.08
