Orinda Aquatics’ Ryan Lenahan Commits to D1 Boston College

Fitter and Faster Swim Clinics is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Ryan Lenahan, a current high school senior from Moraga, CA, has committed to swim for D1 Boston College. Lenahan will graduate from Campolindo High School in May 2020 and join the Boston Eagle’s class of 2024.

Lenahan was primarily a water polo player until a year ago when he decided to focus on his swimming. He started swimming club only two years ago. “I am young in the sport, and am continuing to figure out my events and realize my potential as a swimmer,” Lenehan said. His coaches say that he has a lot of potential in the future with his swimming.

So far in his short career as a competitive swimmer, Lenahan swam the 100 meter backstroke at Junior Nationals this summer and placed 3rd in the 800 freestyle at Far Westerns.

“I am proud and honored to announce my commitment to swim at Boston College for the class of 2024!! The combination of the school, the team, and the city is what made BC the obvious choice. I want to thank my coaches, parents, teammates, and friends for helping me get to this point as well and Coach Mike and Coach Eric for making the process so easy. I can’t wait for the next four years! Go Eagles!! 🦅🦅”

With his current best times, Lenahan would have placed just outside of scoring finals at this year’s Atlantic Coast Conference Championships.

At the ACC Championships this year, Boston College placed 11th as a team and placed 10th in the 200 medley relay.

Lenahan will begin his swimming career at Boston College beginning fall 2020.
