OSSC Girls Break Another 11-12 NAG Record, Have Yet to Lose an Event

Ohio State Swim Club‘s Ava Lachey, Martina Peroni, Hannah Routh and Riley Huddleston have teamed up again to take down their second NAG record in as many nights at the 2016 Ohio LC Junior Olympics.

Meet results

Last night, the quartet from the Ohio State Swim Club smashed the 11-12 NAG record for the 400 medley relay (LCM). Tonight, they crushed the 200 meter medley relay 11-12 NAG with a 2:03.74.

  • Splits: Lachey (31.49) – Peroni (35.79) – Routh (29.44) – Huddleston (27.02)

While the old 400 medley relay mark was also from 2016 before these four girls crushed it last night, the old 200 medley relay record dates back to 2008. 8 years ago, the team of Grace CarlsonBrie BalsboughBrenda Cha, and Abby Lyons from Lake Oswego Swim Team in Oregon set the mark at 2:05.15. Lake Oswego still holds the 11-12 NAG records in the 200 and 400 meter free relays.

With that record, these same four OSSC girls now hold the 200 free and 200 medley relays in the 10& under age group as well as the 200 and 400 medley records in the 11-12 age group.

Tonight, Lachey also won the 50 back (31.72) and the 200 free (2:09.22), while Peroni took the 100 breast (1:18.56) and Routh the 200 fly (2:26.27). Peroni was 2nd to Routh in that 200 fly (2:26.72). Lachey, Routh, Huddleston, and Cameron Kuriger also teamed up to post a 1:52.85 to win the 200 free relay tonight, though that didn’t come too close to the NAG record of 1:50.95 set by Lake Oswego back in ’08.

All-in-all, however, OSSC won every single 11-12 girls event tonight. In fact, they have yet to lose an event in the 11-12 division at the meet thus far, which started Thursday night.
