With the 2016 Ohio LC Junior Olympics concluded,  Ava Lachey, Martina Peroni, Hannah Routh and Riley Huddleston of the Ohio State Swim Club have crashed through another NAG relay record, taking down the 400 free relay record for the 11-12 age group.

Meet results

The OSSC girls first smashed the 11-12 NAG record for the 400 medley relay (LCM), and then last night they toppled the 200 medley relay 11-12 NAG record.

Tonight, the same four girls combined for a 4:03.61, bettering the old mark by nearly two seconds.

  • Huddleston (1:00.78)
  • Peroni (1:01.72)
  • Routh (1:00.00)
  • Lachey (1:01.11)
  • TOTAL: 4:03.61

The previous record was held by Lake Oswego Swim Club at 4:05.53 and was made up of Grace CarlsonAbby LyonsBrenda Cha, and Celia Keany.

These same four girls from OSSC now hold NAG records in five different relays across two age groups. Their records are outlined below:

  • 10 & under 200 free relay
  • 10 & under 200 medley relay
  • 11-12 400 free relay
  • 11-12 200 medley relay
  • 11-12 400 medley relay

In addition to their impressive NAG record haul this weekend, girls from the Ohio State Swim Club won all but one event in the 11-12 age group, relay or individual, at the Ohio LC JO’s this weekend. Their sole loss came in the 50 free tonight in a photo finish– Findlay Area Swim Team’s (FAST, for short) Grace Smith was 27.83 to knock off Huddleston (27.85) by just two hundredths. Smith, for her part, took over a second off of her lifetime best, which stood at 28.89 before the meet.
