OSSC’s Elise Barbour Verbally Commits to NAIA Champion, SCAD Savannah

Ohio State Swim Club senior swimmer, Elise Barbour, has verbally committed to swim at the Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD) Savannah beginning in the fall of 2017. Barbour is a versatile swimmer who specializes mostly in backstroke, IM, and the longer end of the freestyle range.

“I chose SCAD for the amazing swim team and the top interior design program. I fell in love with the school, the location and the swimming program immediately. The team felt like a family and I loved the coaches. It’s my dream school, and I’m ecstatic to be a Bee!”

Barbour does not participate in high school swimming; instead she focuses on club swimming with OSSC. She competed at the 2016 Dolfin Junior National Championship Cup last spring in the 200 free, 100/200 back, 50/100/200 fly, and 200/400 IM. Her best SCY times are:

  • 100 back – 59.15
  • 200 back – 2:05.89
  • 200 IM – 2:07.87
  • 400 IM 4:30.32
  • 100 fly – 58.60
  • 200 fly – 2:08.22
  • 100 breast – 1:08.58
